Malawi national football Under-20 coach Franco Ndawa says his side is not intimidated with the announcement by Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) to give fans an offer to watch the African Under-20 Championship qualifier match between Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Heroes and Junior Flames at the Uhuru Stadium on Friday free of charge.
TFF Spokesman, Florian Kaijage is quoted by Daily News of Tanzania that the offer will only apply to popular stand seats.
“We need massive support, therefore fans should not shy away from the offer, and they should come to cheer Ngorongoro Heroes in their campaign for the next year’s finals in Libya."
The Junior Flames, who settled for a 2-2 draw against Ngorongoro Heroes in the first leg match in Blantyre. Winner of the match would meet Ivory Coast in July
But the Malawi tactician told
Nyasa Times that his charges were well drilled to get the best result in the return match.
"We cannot be intimidated. We are well prepared and am confident that we can get the good result and qualify to the next round," said Ndawa who has been helped by National Coach Kinnah Phiri in drilling the boys
Tanzania official said there would be a special arrangement to ensure that the popular stand cater for the only needed number of fans for safety reasons.
“Security personnel would be on alert to make sure that those who enter to watch the match at the popular stand are the number according to the stand capacity and not otherwise,” said Kaijage.
Match referee will be Eritrean Gebremichael Lueleghed and would be assisted by Mohamed Berehane and Tesfaqiorghiso O’michael also from Eritrea.
